Beloved Swashbuckling Graphic Adventure Available on Steam and

LOS ANGELES – JULY 7, 2020Telltale, an independent developer and publisher of story-driven games, today announced that it has reissued its critically-acclaimed pirate adventure Tales of Monkey Island for PC. The episodic graphic adventure is available today on, Green Man Gaming, Robot Cache, and on Steam as part of the Summer Steam Sale.

Praised by OC Weekly as the “Best Series Revival” of the year and included in several “Top Games” roundups when it first launched, Tales of Monkey Island is the fifth game in the Monkey Island series. Gamespot called the series “… a lengthy adventure that’s easy to enjoy and easy on your wallet, sure to please both newcomers and veteran insult sword fighters alike.”

Continuing the adventure originally created by LucasArts, Tales of Monkey Island follows pirate Guybrush Threepwood, who—while attempting to destroy his nemesis, the undead pirate LeChuck—accidentally releases a voodoo pox across the Gulf of Melange. With the assistance of his wife, Elaine Marley–Threepwood, Guybrush seeks out a cure. Originally sold in five episodic chapters, Tales of Monkey Island is now sold as a complete collection.

The Telltale brand, technologies, and select IPs were purchased by holding company LCG Entertainment in August of 2019 as a way to preserve and build upon Telltale’s legacy for story-driven games. Tales of Monkey Island is the most recent of several Telltale reissues of the company’s popular back catalog of games that include the Telltale Batman Series, and The Wolf Among Us. The company revealed in December that it has started production on The Wolf Among Us 2.

“Many of Telltale’s titles such as Tales of Monkey Island, were hugely popular and beloved by so many people that we wanted to bring them back online and available for fans to play again or share with an entirely new audience,” said Jamie Ottilie, CEO of Telltale. “We feel a responsibility to caretake the legacy Telltale has for great storytelling and build on it for the brand’s many fans.

Since the brand’s revival, Telltale has previously re-released Puzzle Agent 1 & 2, and Hector: Badge of Carnage. The Company released a special edition of its Telltale Batman Series, Telltale Batman: Shadows Edition, which marked the series’ first appearance on Switch. Other titles slated for return include Telltale Texas Hold ’Em! and Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People.
Tales of Monkey Island is available today on, Green Man Gaming, Robot Cache, and Steam for a suggested retail price of $19.99 USD and will be on sale at fifty percent off for a limited time. For additional information, please visit
