How to use the Gameplay Recording feature for Minecraft: Story Mode

With Google Play Games, you can record your gameplay directly on your device, then publish it onto video sites like YouTube! You can set up recording before launching the game, or start recording in the middle of gameplay if you are already in-game.

To begin recording gameplay:

  1. Open the Google Play Games app.
  2. Select the game to open the game details page.
  3. At the top of the game details page, tap the record icon.
  4. Select your desired video quality setting. You can record in 480p SD or 720p HD. Based on your device's available storage space, you will see the maximum video length that you can record.
  5. Tap Launch to start your game. You will see a floating video bubble appear with recording settings.
  6. Tap the Record icon. After a 3 second countdown, the recording will begin.

To begin recording gameplay while in-game:

  1. Start the game.
  2. Choose an Episode and begin playing.
  3. Tap the Pause button in the top right corner once it appears.
  4. In the Pause menu, tap the Record button and choose the quality settings. Return to gameplay when you have selected your settings.
  5. Tap the Record icon. After a 3 second countdown, the recording will begin.

To stop recording: Tap the floating video bubble, then tap the red stop icon.

To dismiss your current recording: Drag the floating video bubble into the center of the screen. Drop the video bubble over the "X" to dismiss your recording.

Once you have finished recording, the video will save in your device's Gallery app.
