Check out the new gameplay trailer for The Expanse: A Telltale Series

Did you check out the IGN FanFest in February? If so, you’ll have seen a brand-new look at The Expanse: A Telltale Series in our thrilling gameplay trailer.

And if not? Don’t fret; we’ve got it right here for you!

For those of you who are a little out of the loop, The Expanse: A Telltale Series is the first game coming from the new Telltale. What’s more, we’re working with our friends over at Deck Nine to bring the world of The Expanse to life.

Set before the events of the hit television show, players will be thrown into Camina Drummer’s magboots as she unravels a dark and dangerous mystery. Plus, actress Cara Gee returns to voice the fan favourite character!

This new trailer gives you a taste of what you’ll get to experience later this summer when the first episode launches, with future episodes planned to drop just a couple of weeks apart.

The Expanse brings a level of exploration not seen in a Telltale game before, and will have you exploring wrecked ships in a zero-g environment. You’ll be free-floating in open space between huge hunks of wreckage, before activating those magboots and seamlessly traversing across the walls and ceilings of deserted corridors.

But that’s not all. How does surviving a mutiny or combating fearsome pirates sound?

And of course the heart-wrenching decisions that you know and love are there for you to wrestle with throughout the series. Your choices will reveal Drummer’s resolve and build (or test!) the relationships she has with her crew of fellow Beltas.

You’ll get a peek at one of those decisions in our gameplay trailer. As you explore one of those ruined spacecrafts, your crew member Rayen’s leg becomes trapped by a vault.

His suit is punctured and losing pressure. To save his life, you’d need to release the vault into space… the vault that’s full of essential supplies like oxygen and water and could be taken back to your own ship.

Of course, you could keep the vault and save Rayen. You’d just need to remove his leg.

So, we’re curious… what would you do? Lose the vault, or lose Rayen’s leg?
